Key dates
- March 5, 2023Bar Rescue episode “Outta Touch, Outta Time” airs — Jon Taffer's rescue of Rockabillies, relaunched as Bar Retro, filmed earlier.
The rescue
Jon Taffer relaunched Rockabillies as Bar Retro.
The bar was renamed Bar Retro during the show but did not keep the name. Reviews are mostly positive, covering the food, service and music.
What happened next
The owners did not keep Taffer's Bar Retro name. Events in June and July 2022 were billed jointly as 'Rock-a-billies/Bar Retro', but by January 2023 the bar was using Rockabillies alone, and its social media profiles never adopted the new name; staff were answering the phone as Rockabillies even while Google Maps still listed the bar as Bar Retro, which caused some confusion. Rockabillies remains open in Arvada.
