The rescue

Jon Taffer relaunched Headhunters as Metal and Lace.

Headhunters / Metal and Lace closed at the end of April 2014. The closure followed the building's purchase by a new owner; Steve looked at nine other locations but never reopened.

What happened next

Six weeks after the rescue, Jewel and Chloe were named managers of the relaunched Metal and Lace. Owner Steve soon returned to his old habits, and the new name never caught on: the venue still advertised as Headhunters for SXSW in 2013, and most customers used the old name. Reviews were poor, at 1.5 stars on Yelp, although many negative reviews came from Bar Rescue viewers who had never visited. The bar closed at the end of April 2014 after the building was bought by a new owner and Steve struggled to keep the lease. He considered nine other locations but never reopened. A later Back to the Bar episode covered former staff seeking pay they said Steve owed them.
