What happened next
At the six-week check-in, business at Bar 702 was up, and the video poker machines were earning 33% more than before the rescue. The episode also produced litigation: co-owner Paul Wilkes sued Taffer, claiming Taffer had punched him and thrown a drink in his face, and that producers had instructed him to mistreat Taffer's wife. The case was settled out of court. The bar was sold in 2014, and the new owners dropped the Bar 702 name and reverted to Sand Dollar Lounge. It continued trading under its original name and was still operating at the Las Vegas location as of 2022.
