The rescue
Jon Taffer relaunched Barlow's as The Comeback Sports Bar & Grill.
Barlow’s / The Comeback Sports Bar & Grill closed in October 2017 after the bar was sold. The owners kept the new name. In 2016, owner Susan Wood won a seat on the city council.
What happened next
Three months after the rescue, Susan was running the bar while John handled the books, and former employee Nicky’s request to be rehired was declined. Business improved, and the bar traded successfully for several years under the new name, The Comeback Sports Bar & Grill. The improvement did not last indefinitely: the bar was sold to new owners who wanted to pursue a different concept, and The Comeback closed in October 2017, a little over four years after the episode aired.
